Simpler Recycling Blog

To help businesses adapt to the new recycling legislation, we offer comprehensive support and customised recycling programs. These changes mandate the separation of food waste, glass, and Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR).
What Has Changed?
- Food waste is now prohibited from general waste disposal.
- Glass waste must be separated into a dedicated bin.
-
All other recyclables (DMR) must be segregated from general waste. This includes:
- Paper & Card: Paper, cardboard, newspapers
- Tins & Cans: Metal cans, tins, foil
- Plastic Bottles: Plastic bottles, tubs, pots
Key Points for Businesses:
- Businesses with 10 or more employees across all sites must comply with these regulations.
- Even small amounts of food waste and glass must be separated.
- Use clear bin liners in your DMR bin.
- Compostable bin liners must be used for food waste.
How to Recycle Effectively:
- Don't aim for perfection: Focus on increasing recycling rates.
- Align bin colours: Match internal bins to your external bin stickers.
- Use clear bin liners: For easy identification of recyclables.
Our Recycling Programs
Our comprehensive recycling programs are designed to minimise landfill waste and promote sustainable practices. We accept a wide range of materials, including Paper & Card, Tins & Cans, Plastic Bottles, and Glass.
By participating in our recycling programs, you can contribute to a healthier environment and a more sustainable future. We encourage our customers to separate their waste on-site. One of our team will be happy to help by advising you on the correct containers and any signage or internal bins you might need to make it easier for your staff to separate your waste.
We have several options and sizes available, depending on the size of your business and the volume of waste you produce.
