Chemical Removal & Lab Smalls

Hazardous waste comes from several different processes and different forms; getting it wrong can be costly to your business. Our specialist team helps customers safely store, transport and remove all kinds of hazardous waste.

Hazardous waste comes from most sectors including industrial, automotive, office buildings, construction, hotels and more.

Chemical waste types include the following:

Adhesives often contain flammable or hazardous components, making correct disposal essential. Our service ensures these materials are handled safely and in line with best practices.

Aerosols contain pressurised gases and potentially hazardous substances, requiring proper disposal to prevent environmental harm. We safely collect and process all types of aerosol waste.

Antifreeze contains toxic chemicals such as ethylene glycol, which can harm the environment if not managed correctly. We offer a safe and efficient collection service, ensuring proper disposal and recycling where possible.

Brake fluids contain glycol-based chemicals that require careful handling. We provide collection and disposal to minimise risks to health and the environment.

Many cleaning agents include corrosive or solvent-based ingredients. We collect and dispose of these safely, preventing contamination and ensuring compliance with waste management standards.

Flammable liquids pose fire and environmental risks. We provide safe containment, transport, and disposal to ensure proper handling and compliance with safety requirements.

Interceptors capture oil-contaminated water from drainage systems. We offer professional collection and disposal services to prevent pollution and maintain compliance.

We provide a professional service for the collection and disposal of laboratory chemicals, including small quantities of mixed or unknown substances. Our chemist ensures correct classification, packaging, and transport, preventing contamination and ensuring safe handling.

Paint waste can contain solvents and heavy metals, making it important to dispose of correctly. We provide collection services that ensure environmentally responsible processing.

Used oil must be managed carefully to prevent contamination of land and waterways. We collect and process waste oil efficiently, ensuring safe recycling or disposal.

Oil filters contain residual oil and metal components that require specialist disposal. We collect and process them to recover valuable materials while reducing environmental impact.

Rags soaked in oil or other contaminants pose both fire and pollution risks. We provide secure collection and disposal to ensure safe handling and environmental protection.

Solvent waste is highly flammable and can be harmful if not disposed of properly. We collect and process solvent waste to prevent hazards and ensure safe recycling or disposal.

Rags contaminated with solvents require specialist handling due to their flammability and potential for chemical exposure. Our service ensures they are collected and disposed of safely.

If you’re not sure what hazardous waste you have on-site, we can help. Our on-site chemist can identify, classify, and pack a full range of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals for safe transport and disposal. This ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations while reducing risks on-site.

Aerosol De-Packaging: Safe, Sustainable, and Fully Compliant

At Evolve, we work in partnership with specialist facilities that operate advanced aerosol de-packaging systems. These systems are designed to safely extract and contain the gas and liquid contents from aerosol cans, after which the empty containers are compressed into metal briquettes for recycling.

Aerosol de-packaging is a proven and widely used process, and through our partners, we ensure that the most up-to-date, safest, and environmentally responsible technologies are utilised. The systems are fully automated and only operate once all safety conditions are met, offering both efficiency and peace of mind.

What Materials Are Recovered?

Through this process, a range of valuable components can be safely recovered from waste aerosols, including:

  • Gas propellants
  • Liquid solvents
  • Metal containers (typically aluminium or steel)
  • Plastic parts and fittings

All recovered materials are then sent for appropriate recycling or disposal in line with environmental regulations.

Who Is This Service Designed For?

The UK currently faces a shortfall in capacity for processing aerosols — particularly those arising in bulk. Evolve’s service is aimed at helping organisations manage these waste streams safely and compliantly. This includes:

  • Civic amenity sites and household waste recycling centres
  • Commercial and industrial sectors
  • Manufacturers of personal care products, paints, lubricants, insecticides, and specialty foods
  • Retailers, garages, and service centres
  • Building maintenance and construction companies
  • Facilities management providers
  • Waste management contractors

Whether you’re handling off-spec batches, expired products, or surplus stock, we offer a compliant and sustainable route for aerosol disposal through our trusted network.

We have several different UN-approved containers, depending on the volume or waste type. A member of our team will recommend the correct container to match the waste type.

Every movement of chemicals or WEEE waste requires a consignment note by law which you must keep on record for 3 years. A note is needed for all movements of hazardous waste, including collections by registered waste carriers and movements between premises within the same business, as it tracks the waste from collection to disposal. Evolve will provide you will the relevant documentation needed to transport the waste from your premises to the end disposal point, providing you with a full audit trail of all waste movements.
